Great service. Pizza and wings was good !! Make sure to stop by during fight night or a game . It's a good time . Drink was great too

Nice find... Was looking for somewhere to grab a late bite and wrap up some business. Not many people here as we arrived well after 9pm on a Friday. Looked to be a few homie looking folks sitting at the bar. Very friendly customers (probably regulars) and bartenders. Order one of the veggies pizzas with chicken, and it was delicious! The ambiance is full sports bar, plenty of tv's and welcoming staff. I will definitely be back!

This sports bar is in an area that I frequent, and after passing it for months, I decided to stop in on a Thursday evening and watch the Warriors game. I was greeted by a young man at the front counter as soon as I walked in. He was very welcoming. You place your order at the front counter and can pay then or leave your tab open. I ordered and found a table to sit at. The tables and booths appeared clean, as did the ladies' restroom. I stepped in there to wash my hands, and to my surprise, the water actually got hot! (sad, but this seems a rarity for many places). I ordered the Buffalo wings; Bacon chicken ranch sandwich (came with potato wedges); and a blackberry margarita. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time(10 - 15 minutes) and was piping hot. Pros: The margarita was bomb! Heavy enough on the liquor to know it's there, but not enough to slow you down. The wings were great. Crispy skin and covered in Buffalo sauce. The star of the show was the sandwich, though. They do NOT skimp on the fillings, and I can't remember having bread that fresh in years (this is sad too). They are also cool on the portions. I had to carry some home. Cons: The only con is that after delivering your order....they don't come back. Not even to ask if you would like water. I realize it's a bar but as there is sit down service offered, I expected someone would at least check in, even once. All in all, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I will absolutely return.

On a rainy Sunday, I ordered a delivery pizza from VJ's Sports Bar & Pizza. This popular sports bar used to be a Straw Hat Pizza restaurant. It's located in the Marina Village shopping center, in Alameda's West End (near the Tubes). VJ's Sports Bar is a survivor of the Covid-19 shutdown. It did it thru community support and offering various virtual brands. A virtual brand is a menu only offered thru delivery apps. If you see a pickup address of "901 Marina Village Parkway," you're ordering from VJ's Sports Bar. And that's a good thing, because it's a real restaurant and not a ghost kitchen. So, I ordered a Medium Combo Pizza and Garlic Parmesan Sticks. I used the Caviar App, because it's direct delivery. The Combination Pizza is a good pizza. The dough and crust are crispy, not soft. It's loaded with toppings, and the pepperoni tends to be crispy. If you're looking for gourmet specialty pizza, this is not the place. This is a good pizza, with lots of toppings. Not overly salty, but not super cheesy either. So, it gets a 4-star rating. The Garlic Parmesan Sticks are good with the ranch dip. It's just twisted pizza dough, cheese, and diced fresh garlic. Eat it while it's hot and fresh. VJ's Sports Bar & Pizza is in the Marina Village shopping center. Lots of free parking in lot

Casual pizza parlor, fun for football games so far. The cauliflower pizza was delicious. I love the crunch! Good beer selection. The staff was attentive and kind. I deducted a star because the bathroom can use a remodel. Overall it was a good vibe!

To appreciate VJ's you need the right approach. if you're going there, expecting a gastro pizza pub, you'll probably in for a letdown. But if you're looking for a clean, well-lit spot to enjoy the Warriors or other (hopefully Bay Area) team with good food as an assist, then this is the place. All over the joint, are 15 big screens, so you'll be able to catch just about any game you're planning to see. And, if by chance, your game is not on one of the 15, you can, as I did, ask them to tune into your match du jour. Or even two different games side by side (like we did...Warriors on one, Niners on the other). They're more than happy to oblige with the remote. Overall, the waitstaff was attentive and very eager to please. As for grabbing grub, I've had two things here. Since pizza is it's namesake, I tried VJ's The Works. It arrived oven-hot, and pulled apart with webs of wonderfully stringy mozzarella. One bite, and you break into a tantalizingly crunchy crust. The pie was also overflowing with toppings. I've never said a pizza was too overloaded with toppings, but VJ's comes close...but, really, I didn't mind. I've also had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. It's on a fluffy, artisan-like roll, not the typical, harder french roll. But it worked. The flavor of the Philly Cheese was complementarily enhanced. Another plus is a long, varied row of brews on tap. Ask for samples. Also, it opens til 10 pm, so you won't feel rushed to get out before the Warriors games end like at, ahem, other pizza sports bars (looking at you, Philomena). The parking is also more than plentiful since this is in a big neighborhood mall.
